What is L.E.V
01. L.E.V. stands for Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual or, in English, Visual Electronic Laboratory, is a free open space in which electronic music and images work in synergy and indivisibly as a unitary form of art expression.
02. L.E.V. is not merely a showcase for audiovisual culture, but more importantly a space where live audiovisuals, video sessions and live audios are taken beyond their usual hedonistic conception to become an unequivocal signal of man?s evolution within art, of the use of new technologies as valid tools to materialise artistic concerns.
03. L.E.V. is the meeting where the experience of the audience it´s the priority, where the creation of sensations by means of activities that will be outside the musical field. Not just be another art exhibition targeting a predetermined audience, but will look for an ongoing dialogue between the work and the spectator in roundtables, lectures, and workshops, with a view to stimulating the curiosity and involvement of all attendants.
04. L.E.V. will bring closer to the public a selection of the most interesting works in the audiovisual domain, providing a platform for young talents and mid-career practitioners, not just from Spain but the whole world.
05. L.E.V. does not prioritize the media impact of the artists involved in any given project. On the contrary, uppermost in our concerns is their contribution to the evolution of recent musical history, of the projection they careers may have, or their experimental nature, risk-taking and artistic quality.
06. L.E.V. recognizes the need to value audiovisual culture as the foremost cultural expression of our time; the need to shift the focus on musical and visual proposals from the usual festival format toward a more decidedly artistic perspective within the context of art centres; the need to attract spectators not only with traditional expressions of art, but also through its infinite contemporary derivations.
